West Park Planning Application
Posted by Jonathan Lees on Sunday 7 February 2010
The long-awaited Planning Application for the West Park site on the hospital cluster has at last been registered with the council. A total of 369 new homes are proposed, though two parts of the site would still be retained by the NHS.
The main application 09/00971/RES comprises 369 new residential dwellings, of which 149 would be “affordable” dwellings intended either for rental through a Housing Association or for shared equity schemes. In addition a separate application 09/00969/LBA proposes to convert the listed water tower into 4 dwellings, with a third application 09/00968/CAC covering demolition of existing buildings.
These documents can all be inspected between 8.50am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday either at the Town Hall or Bourne Hall, between 9.00am and 3.00pm on Saturdays at Bourne Hall and until 7.00pm on Thursdays 25 February and 25 March at the Town Hall.
Comments should be sent to Mr Jacy Yates in the Planning Department at the Town Hall, preferably to reach him by 19 February. The date when these applications will be considered by the Planning Committee is not yet known.

Dear Mr. Yates,
The West Park site is of historical importance from both a healthcare in modern Britain and architectural perspective.
I’m interested to know if, as part of the planning applications, has there also been budgetary arrangements and provisioning for a photographic survey prior to demolition?
I believe that the site may also have recent interest from English Heritage, with perhaps intent to constitute a characterisation of the site at this time, and a documentation of the processes of change and effect on the local community and landscape
Perhaps alongside section 149, there should be provisioning by the applicant to assume responsibility for providing financial coverage of the activities relating to securing the history of this once great site
Kind Regards,

More pretentious and irrelevant rubbish from Bradley Garrett. Shut up with your boring nonsense. It’s about time this place was flattened, n00b.

Wow okay Nigel, I guess I can’t have an opinion on the issue, glad I took the time to write about it. Keep it real with the personal low blows.
Thanks for (apparently) reading my blog repeatedly anyway troll.

New homes these days are made of energy efficient insulations and most of them use environment friendly materials too.
